I really wanted to love this book. I was all excited for a new series to dive into. I'm just not sure this one is for me.There's a lot to like about this book. I felt like, in a genre full of copycats, the idea was pretty original. I love the thought of the role reversal where the girl is the powerful one (although they didn't need to make Ethan quite so wimpy). I don't personally love the detail with which the settings & the people are described, but it's well-written & I can appreciate it. And who doesn't love a story set in the south? So, what's my big fat problem? It's kind of boring. Everything was just a bit lackluster, even the love story. I just wasn't grabbed by anything going on. I was interested enough to keep reading, but there were several times I would get impatient & skip parts to just get to what the hell is actually HAPPENING! Maybe that was part of my problem: it was too long/wordy. But when I did finally get to something happening, it was kind of anticlimactic anyway. Not satisfying.Like I said, I can see the appeal, but I just didn't love it. I probably won't read the rest of the series.
