Chelsea's Adventures in Book Blogging...

I've fairly recently become obsessed with reading. This is just me sharing that love with the world. :)

Currently in the (apparently long) process of importing my books from GR.

Falling Into You - Jasinda Wilder I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The beginning outlines Nell & kyle's relationship as teenagers. I think Ms. Wilder really captures young love perfectly, in all its melodramatic, inexperienced glory. Of course, I wept like a child when kyle died, & it's only like 4 chapters in. Other than that, the writing was good. There were some parts that really struck me, they were so profound & beautifully written. Likewise, there were some parts that struck me because they were dumb. Some of the "gangsta" language used was way not believable. I'm no gangster myself, but I'm pretty sure you'd never hear the word "nifty" in the hood. Yes, nifty. Also, Nell runs from difficult situations. A lot. I don't mean that figuratively; she flees like a thief in the night in the middle of whatever is going on. It happens at least 6 times in the book. Who does that?? Maybe I have a thick skull & am not understanding some deeper symbolic meaning there, but I found it annoying. Get a grip, girlfriend. All in all, though, I liked it. I wish I would have thought to highlight some of the beautiful parts so I could quote those too instead of being such a negative nelly.
